Well, I was invited to my very first blogging event on Wednesday. It was a Stagecoach #bloggersonthebus event held at Jalou which is a bar in Newcastle City Centre with an amazing cocktail menu! The plan for the night was for us all to get all crafty and create our own phone cases. I didn’t think of myself as a creative person however I seemed to be in my element all night and got right into the whole thing.
I heard that Stagecoach had created an app which I downloaded prior to going to the event and considering I’m not usually a bus rider, the process was very simple.I used the app to purchase my ticket and planned my journey from work to Jalou. I work in Gateshead and live in Sunderland so using the app to find out where my nearest bustop was to get to the event was very useful! I like the way you can input where you live and where you work into the app, it means you can click ‘take me home’ or ‘take me to work’ without having to fill in the postcodes each time. Every time I leave the house it seems I always forget at least one thing out of my bag, if not my actual handbag on some occasions. This is where the app came in very handy for me! I was able to purchase my bus ticket from my phone and pay on card, saving me having to detour to a cash point in the cold on the way to the bustop.
When I arrived at Jalou I got overly excited by all the crafty supplies waiting for us to be let loose with, the Prosecco and cocktails on arrival were obviously an added bonus also! We had all been asked what kind of phones we had before the night so each of us had new, clear phone cases ready and waiting to be vamped!
I opted for the spray paints and nail varnishes for my cases and kinda just went crazy with them from there. I saw a couple other girls using the nail varnishes, pouring it onto paper and then dipping the case in. This looked fab so I blended a few colours together to create a pinky/purple/glittery galaxy. With my second case I used the copper spray paint and then dabbed acryclic paint and varnish on top.
I was super pleased with how my cases turned out and now its the daily decision of which case to use. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed my first event and feel I’ve grown a new creative hobby. It was a lovely night with lovely people and thanks to Stagecoach for inviting me!
