Since buying my own house, I always love to host the pre drinks for my group of friends before we go anywhere. I have the space to be able to host everyone and enjoy putting on a little soiree for all of the girls. Everyone tends to bring their own drinks however, I do always put together some cocktails for people to drink on arrival. Usually I’d use a mix of vodka with another spirit and mixer. But for this years NYE gathering I had the help of Pago to make these cocktails extra special.
When on holiday as a child, I used to always drink these juices around the pool. There are so many different flavours such as peach, cherry, mango and pineapple, but was always my favourite. They are quite sugary so they are okay if you have them every now and again and don’t over do it. When I received my juices I instantly thought that they would go great in my cocktails that I’d be putting together for my pals coming round.
I received a large cocktail dispenser as a house warming gift which always comes in handy when having people round so they can help themselves to the drinks. I tend to vary the cocktails I make however, my friends do always say the same, that they are super strong!
I find prosecco is great to include in a cocktail which is what I used for NYE. I find that for this particular festive looking cocktail, that a champagne flute looks the best as you can see all of your pretty decorations.
Use your food colouring of choice and add it to your sugar to create a coloured crystal sugar.
Dip your glass into the syrup, just around the rim and then dip into the coloured sugar.
Add your berries into the bottom of your glass for decoration
Add however much vodka you wish, I used 25ml.
Top up half way of your glass with Pago juice.
Fill up the rest of your glass with the Prosecco.
This is a really simple cocktail recipe which is delicious and fruity. You could also add Popaball shimmer to your drink to give it that extra sparkle and make it look even more special.
