Breaking News!! I’m going vegan! Yes, this cheese loving, Nandos addict is attempting the big change. Now, everyone who knows me have said that I won’t last longer than a day. Please guys, have a little faith in me. But to be honest, I do understand where they’re coming from. I do love food, all food, of any kind. But I am actually going to try this and see how I get on. Today is day two of vegan life and I’m feeling very positive about it.
I’m one of most forgetful people ever and if I haven’t written something down then it is 100% erased from my mind. I always have to make a checklist if I’m going somewhere or otherwise I’ll arrive, with half of the items I should’ve packed still at home.
Most places you’re going, whether it’s on holiday, or just a weekend away from home, it tends to be okay if you forget something as there’s shops nearby to grab the essentials. However, when it comes to festivals, you really are screwed. Stuck in a field, in the middle of nowhere, in need of whatever it is you’ve left at home and no way of buying anything.
After moving home from London at 18 and getting a job I decided to buy myself a car. I’d been saving during my time at sixth form and always seemed to save any Christmas or birthday money I received. When I was in Sixth Form a lot of people were bought cars for their 17th and 18th birthdays or for no reason at all but everything I have I’ve saved for and bought myself which I personally think makes you appreciate things more if they haven’t been handed to you on a plate.
After finishing sixth form, I decided not to go to University, unlike the majority of my friends. I didn’t like the thought of choosing my lifetime career at the age of 18 when I wasn’t 100% sure what I wanted to do as a job. I didn’t want to waste 3/4 years of my life doing a course for the sake of it, just because it was the next step to take after sixth form. After humming and harring about what to do, I ended up making the most spontaneous decision I’d ever made, and moved almost 300 miles away to London!
Well, I was invited to my very first blogging event on Wednesday. It was a Stagecoach #bloggersonthebus event held at Jalou which is a bar in Newcastle City Centre with an amazing cocktail menu! The plan for the night was for us all to get all crafty and create our own phone cases. I didn’t think of myself as a creative person however I seemed to be in my element all night and got right into the whole thing.
Welcome to my first ever blog post! I’ve been saying this is something I want to do for a few months now, and seeing as its now the new year and the new me malarkey is going round, the plunge has finally been taken.
